Anti-Hazing

The Full Story

The Alpha Theta chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi at Mizzou firmly opposes hazing for freshmen because it prioritizes the safety, well-being, and personal development of all its members. Hazing not only undermines the core values of brotherhood and respect but can also lead to severe psychological and physical harm. The chapter believes in fostering a positive and inclusive environment where new members can thrive, build genuine friendships, and feel supported as they transition into college life. By promoting leadership, accountability, and mutual respect, the Alpha Theta chapter aims to create a legacy of integrity that encourages personal growth without the dangers and negative impacts associated with hazing practices.

In 2024, the nationals of Alpha Sigma Phi partnered with the hazing prevention Network in order to better educate the members of the organization about hazing prevention. Their mission is to educate people about the dangers of hazing and to start change by engaging the community in strategies and acivities to prevent it from being an issue again.
